YWCA Announces 2022 Women of Achievement Nominee and Event Host


VAN WERT COUNTY – YWCA of Van Wert County will host its annual Women of Achievement Scholarship Dinner Thursday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the Willow Bend Country Club. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 14 for $25 on Eventbrite.com.

This year’s nominees in the following eight categories include:

Professional Leadership – Stacy Adam, Jamie Ramos, Vicki Smith and Quincy Thompson

Advocacy – Teresa Shaffer

Empowering Women – Victoria Mooney

Racial Justice – Eva Yarger

Volunteering – Rachel White

Youth Development – Delta Clark, Rachel Hoverman and Nancy Sparks

Civic Engagement – ​​​​Janice Kirchenbauer

Overcoming Adversity – Tabitha Kline and Kendall Schrader

The winners of the Women of Achievement Awards will be announced the night of the event. “The YWCA is dedicated to eradicating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, liberty and dignity for all – so it is an absolute honor to be able to recognize these women who fulfill our mission in their daily lives. We look forward to a wonderful night celebrating our nominees and their commitment to the Van Wert community,” said Kelly Houg, Mission Impact Coordinator.

This year’s event will be moderated by Susan J. Burchfield, LPCC-S. Burchfield is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Supervisor, Certified Mediator, and Co-Founder of the Assisting Our Kids (AOK) parent education program. She has been working with individuals, couples and families for over 30 years. Her areas of expertise include individual, marriage and family therapy, group facilitation, counseling, mediation, training, supervision and diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders.

“As a former Van Wert County YWCA board member and chair, Susan continues to support the YWCA’s mission and work in the community,” said Houg. “We are thrilled to bring their energy, history and dedication to this year’s celebration!”
