WOMEN’S HOCKEY: Bemidji State places WCHA-leading 15 on Scholar-Athlete List – The Rink Live


BEMIDJI – 15 members of the Bemidji State women‘s ice hockey team have earned academic recognition as members of the 2021-22 WCHA Scholar-Athlete Award List.

Honorees include fifth-year students Kerigan Dowhy (The Pas, Manitoba) and Lindsey Featherstone (Woodbury), as well as Ellie Moser (Farmington), Graysen Myers (Fargo, ND) and Claudia Verkerke (White Bear Lake).

Junior honorees are Paige Anderson (Andover), Kate Boland (Northfield), Abby DeLaRosa (Hugo), Reece Hunt (Nelson, British Columbia), and Mya Neugent (Sun Prairie, Wisconsin).

Sophomores on the list include Hannah Hogenson (Anchorage, Alaska), Khloe Lund (Thief River Falls), Taylor Nelson (Carlton), Kayla Santl (Roseau), and Anika Stoskopf (Roseau).

Dowhy and Featherstone received the award for the fourth time, while Verkerke, Myers, Moser, DeLaRosa, Boland and Anderson are all second-time recipients of the award.

To be recognized as a WCHA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have been a resident at their current institution for at least one year prior to the current academic year and also have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the previous two semesters or three-quarters. Student-athletes may also qualify if their overall GPA for all semesters at their current institution is at least 3.50.
