Villanova, Pennsylvania – Director of Basketball Coach at Villanova University Denise Dillon today announced the Wildcat 2021-22 schedule. Villanova will play a 29-game schedule, including 20 Big East Conference competitions and four Philadelphia Big Five games.
The 2021-22 campaign begins on November 10th when the Princeton Tigers visit the Finneran Pavilion at the start of the season. After the duel with Princeton, the Wildcats played three consecutive away games in Maryland (November 12), Saint Joseph’s (November 20) and Penn (November 22).
Villanova returns home for back-to-back play when the Wildcats host Temple on November 27 and Lehigh on December 1. 5), Villanova closes the game without a conference with three competitions in December. The Wildcats travel to James Madison’s December 9th, return to Oregon State on December 12th, before playing in La Salle on December 21st.
Starting with a home game against Seton Hall on New Year’s Eve, Villanova will play 18 consecutive BIG EAST games to end the season.
The BIG EAST Conference previously announced an agreement with the leading sports streaming service FloSports as the home of the SoFi-presented BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) for the academic year 2021-22. Serving as the digital home of BIG EAST women’s basketball in 2020-21, FloSports expanded its BEDN offering to include more than 500 Olympic sporting events as well as original BIG EAST content such as “Shootaround” and “Fast Break,” which were featured by the conference’s weekly basketball feature shows for men and women. FloSports offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, and under the extended agreement, student and faculty discounts are available from BIG EAST member institutions.
Villanova will have five national television appearances this year as part of the Big East TV package. The televised games include home games against Connecticut (January 7) and Marquette (February 11), as well as street competitions at DePaul (January 14), Marquette (January 16) and Connecticut (February 9).
