Racers try to gain momentum against UIC


After their first conference win of the year against Indiana State, Murray State women’s soccer will host the game between Illinois and Chicago at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Cutchin Field. The Racers clinched their first Missouri Valley Conference win in dramatic fashion, with an own goal and two goals conceded Mary Hardy and Sydney Etter all in the last 13 minutes of the game against Indiana State. MSU now sits at 1-1-1 in the MVC game.

Morgan Boedker and Hardi Lead Murray State by 2 goals this season. Etter racked up her first career goal last time out while also dishing out two assists on the year.

junior defender Audrey Henry collected her second assist of the season in the deciding goal against the Sycamores.

UIC comes to Cutchin Field with a 1-5-3 record overall and an MVC record of 1-1-1. The Flames clinched a win over Illinois State while tying against Belmont last time out.

The Flames have four goals from four different players, while Megan Bowman leads the team in points with the team’s only one-goal assist in the coming year.

Lauren Kaiser leads the team’s goalkeeping record with 29 saves in 630 minutes from the post.
