Sidhu said the Punjab Model Women’s Empowerment Roadmap is an investment in the future generation and a recognition of housewives.
Elections in Punjab 2022: Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu disproved the opposition’s allegations today that the Congress model of women empowerment is not free. He said the Congress party has promised to provide digital tablets for 24/7 access to education and electric cars for easy mobility. The move is widely viewed as an attempt by the ruling party to oppose the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
“Real development strengthens women. When you raise a girl, you raise a whole family. Punjab Model aims to incentivize every woman from school to college. So financial incentives, a number pad for access to education around the clock and EV Scooty for free and easy mobility, ”said Sidhu.
The Punjab Congress chief said the financial support of Rs 2,000 a month was an attempt to recognize the work done by housewives. “The contribution of women working at home in our Nation & Society Building has never been recognized. The Hon’ble Supreme Court stated that the notion that homemakers don’t work or add economic value to the household is a problematic idea. So Rs 2000 & cylinder for them! ”Said Sidhu.
The Congress Party has also promised households eight free liquefied gas bottles in one year. The party has also promised to give Rs 20,000 to the girls who passed grade 12, Rs 15,000 to the girls who passed grade 10, and Rs 5,000 to the girls who passed grade 5.
Sidhu said the Punjab Model Women’s Empowerment Roadmap is an investment in the future generation and a recognition of housewives. “It aims to make women equal shareholders in the economy, incentivize education and facilitate the entrepreneurship that leads to Jittega Punjab by empowering women,” he said.
He said the number of women in Punjab is equal to that of men, but they own only 1.8 percent of the state’s land, and said the government will allow free property transfers for women with no registration fee.
