Voces en Acción, or Voices in Action, is aimed at young women between the ages of 12 and 24. Latina, black and indigenous girls can apply for this program.
It includes classes on artistic expression such as music, painting, dance, photography, cooking, creative writing, and skills development. You’ll also learn about resume creation, college access, and scholarship options.
Program coordinator Arcea Zapata de Aston said the program is designed so that they can explore their voices and support other young women.
âGive these girls the opportunity to hear ways to become better people, become better women, understand their position in society, be themselves, know how to be a leader, and have their own voice Said Zapata de Aston.
From July 19 to November 12, meetings will be held at the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science at irregular intervals. More information is available at www.educaeducation.org.
