The new president of District 9125 of the Kano Rotary Club, Opeyemi Emmanuel Akinfaderin, has renewed his plans to step up the fight against polio eradication and other health problems in Kano.
The club’s 62nd district president, who signed up at his inauguration ceremony over the weekend in the African House at Government House, said the polio fight in Kano will never resonate.
He said the district’s humanitarian activities would focus on education, health, women’s empowerment and social services.
The new president, who announced an estimated bill of over N6 million for carrying out projects, said there were plans to distribute teaching materials to schools, drill wells, distribute delivery packages and build laboratory centers.
Also at the event, Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, a respected AKS member of the Rotary Club, spoke about the government’s willingness to support an agricultural project intervention as part of the Rotary Project to empower residents.
Investiture Chairman, who is also Chief Operating Officer of Silvex International Limited, Alh Abubakar Garba Ibrahim, who donated N1 million in support to the 2020/2021 humanitarian projects, urged well-meaning individuals to also partner with Rotary Cub to help society a better place to live.
