Manatt expands national health capacity with the arrival of a prominent litigation attorney in Chicago


Lead litigator Megan Thibert-Ind continues to enhance the firm’s industry-leading, integrated legal and advisory model, bringing extensive experience across the Midwest and national healthcare and other clients

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, a multidisciplinary, integrated professional services company, announced today that Megan Thibert-Ind, Healthcare and Civil Litigation Partner, has joined Manatt’s Chicago office. Thibert-Ind has extensive experience representing companies in Manatt’s industrial sectors, including an emphasis on health care stakeholders – such as hospital systems and academic medical centers, outpatient surgery and emergency centers, pharmacy service providers and life science companies – in navigating a Variety of complex business controversies, contractual and regulatory disputes, and post-acquisition challenges.

In particular, Thibert-Ind works with clients from all areas of the healthcare sector, from advising companies that invest in the healthcare sector or acquiring companies to representing hospitals and other providers in litigation relating to practice management and shareholder disputes. She also advises pharmaceutical companies on reimbursement and indemnification claims under the 340B Drug Pricing Program and advises life science companies facing product liability risks.

Thibert-Ind also represents clients in litigation pending in state and federal courts across the country and has served on numerous matters before the American Arbitration Association and other alternative dispute resolution courts. In addition, Thibert-Ind regularly navigates complex expert questions, including financial analysis, lost profits and losses, and causation and other liability issues.

In addition to her work in litigation, Thibert-Ind is known for her service as an active member of the Chicago community and is dedicated to providing pro bono services on a number of subject areas. She has represented undocumented immigrants; Victims of gender-based hate crime, domestic violence and discrimination in the workplace; non-profit arts organizations; and parents falsely reported for abuse. She also serves on the board of Legal Aid Chicago, Cook County’s largest nonprofit civil law service provider.

Thibert-Ind received her JD from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her BA, magna cum laude, from the University of North Dakota. She also studied comparative law at the University of Queensland School of Law in Brisbane, Australia.
