Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]October 11th (ANI): The Indian Army organized an awareness campaign from October 9-10 through a music concert for residents of the Machhal sector in the Kupwara district with a focus on empowering women.
Macchal is a remote area in the northern part of the Kupwara District that is underdeveloped and has a very low literacy rate as cleared by the Army.
Women in this region are usually housewives or work in agriculture and ranching, it said.
The aim of the event was to educate them and familiarize them with the transformations of women around the world. The event was hosted by ‘Meri Zindagi’ India’s first female mission rock band.
During this event, members of the ‘Meri Zindagi’ Female Mission Rock Band visited the villages of the Macchal Sector to interact with women of all ages, raise awareness about education, menstrual hygiene, basic rights, self-employment, employment, birth control, etc.
“The effort consisted of educating women about their importance and their contribution to the appreciation of society.
