NEW YORK, NY (December 9, 2021) – Sunday, January 9, 11:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, Hadassah, the Zionist Women’s Organization of America (HWZOA), will be host “The power of purpose”â a national conference and the first of the organization celebrating the empowerment of women. The event, taking place on Zoom, will bring together a diverse group of widely recognized and accomplished women who are transforming the status quo in arenas ranging from civil rights and civic engagement to women’s health and empowerment, from pro-Israel activism and the fight against anti-Semitism to entrepreneurship and Venture capital investments. An interview with will be a highlight of the event Jenna Bush Hager, Co-host of NBCs TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.
Conference speakers include Amy Spitalnick, Founder of civil rights group Integrity First for America, which recently won its groundbreaking federal lawsuit against neo-Nazis, white racists and hate groups responsible for the violence in Charlottesville; Noa Tishby, Founder of Act for Israel, Israel’s first online advocacy organization, and author of Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth; Tamar Manasse, Founder of the anti-violence organization MASK (mothers / men against senseless killing); Erin Zaikis, Founder of RISE by Sundara, which supports women entrepreneurs in the areas of water, sanitation and hygiene; Mandana Dayani, COO of Archewell, the organization founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the creator and co-founder of I am a voterÂ®, which promotes the importance of civic engagement; Marcy Syms, Chair of the ERA Coalition and Fund for Women’s Equality and President of the Sy Syms Foundation; and Joy Bauer, that TODAY Show nutrition and healthy lifestyle expert.
The conference is chaired by Janice Weinman, former CEO and Executive Director of Hadassah. The Co-Chairs are Michelle Conwisar, Hadassah’s President of the Southern California Region, and Deborah Wiskind, a member of the Hadassah National Board and Co-chair for leadership training and development.

During panel discussions on advocacy, women’s health, women’s advancement and Israel, the speakers describe how they came to define their purpose and find their voice and how they overcame the challenges along the way. The panels listed below give conference attendees an opportunity to study topics they are passionate about and develop ideas on how to take action and make a difference in the world.
- ISRAEL: HThis is how you support Israel through Education, entertainment and technology – Lee Moser, Founder of AnD Ventures, which promotes venture investing for women, and, at 22, former chief of staff to Michael Oren, Israel’s former ambassador to the United States; Dr. Rachel Fish, a self-proclaimed scholar-warrior who specializes in Zionist thought, Israeli history and Middle East studies and the former executive director of the Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism; and producer and actress Noa Tishby, Founder of Act for Israel, Israel’s first online advocacy organization, and author of Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth (Free Press, April 6, 2021).
- WOMEN’S HEALTH: How to Educate the visibility of women’s health and women’s equality issues – Erin Zaikis, Founder of RISE by Sundara, which supports women entrepreneurs in the areas of water, sanitation and hygiene; DR. Asnat whale, Director of the High Risk Pregnancy Division of the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem; Joy Bauer, that TODAY Show Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyle Expert; and other panelists to be announced.
