Elon University / Today at Elon / Elon is hosting the CAA Baseball Conference Championship this week

The Colonial Athletic Association’s top six baseball teams will battle it out for the conference championship at Latham Park.

Anticipation is high for the six teams aiming to win the Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Conference Championship, with the action taking place this week at Elon University’s baseball diamond, Walter C. Latham Park.

The tournament is the fifth and final CAA Championship that Elon will host this academic year, with fans from the region expected to fill the stands to cheer on their phoenix. As of Wednesday, May 25, the conference championship has the Phoenix as the sixth seed in the double-elimination tournament.

Elon’s first game of the tournament takes place on Wednesday at 4pm against the threesome Hofstra, while No. 4 William & Mary take on No. 5 Northeastern at noon the same day. On Thursday at 11:00 a.m. there will be an elimination match between the losers of Wednesday’s games. Top-seeded Charleston plays the lowest-seeded winner from Wednesday’s games at 3 p.m. and No. 2 UNC Wilmington meets the highest-seeded winner from Wednesday’s games at 7 p.m

Tournament action continues with three games on Friday and another at 1pm on Saturday, leading up to Saturday’s CAA Championship game at 5pm.

The tournament fills in a busy championship year at Elon. Rudd Field hosted the women’s soccer tournament this fall, the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center hosted men’s and women’s tennis championships this spring, and the CAA softball tournament saw Elon just missing out on the championship at Hunt Softball Park less than two weeks ago.

Tickets for all sessions are $75 for the general public and $40 for students from a participating institution with a valid ID. Day passes are $20 for the general public and $12 for students. Visit the Elon University ticketing website for more information.
