Srinagar, September 21: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said Tuesday it was encouraging to see women climb new heights in the social, political and financial environment in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said Apni Party believes women have immense potential to give a new direction to society and the only requirement is that they have equal opportunities to prove themselves in all areas of private and public life.
Bukhari spoke on the sidelines of the party’s women’s congress at the party’s main office on M2 Church Lane, Sonwar, where the party’s SAHULIYAT initiative was launched for women.
He said the women made immense sacrifices to maintain cohesion and social fabric in Jammu and Kashmir, and always carved a niche for themselves in all of their skills.
He said that the Apni party wanted the socio-economic and political empowerment of women, whose emancipation forms the basis of every civilized society in the world.
The female participants in attendance praised the efforts of the party leadership in resolving women’s complaints and also vowed to empower party cadres by connecting more women to this much-needed initiative.
The tours in attendance included Ghulam Hassan Mir, the senior vice-president of the Apni party, Mohammad Dilawar Mir, former minister and party leader of the Apni party, the general secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, the provincial president of Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, state secretary Muntazir Mohi-ud -din, media advisor Farooq Andrabi, provincial president Women Wing Dilshad Shaheen and party leader Mir Imaad Rafi.
